Corinthians drew 1-1 with Santos at Vila Belmiro on Thursday night in the Campeonato Paulista's fourth round. The result leaves Dorival Júnior's side three matches without a win, a run last seen in the closing weeks of 2025.
Meu Timao notes that the slump comes early in the state campaign. It follows a 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Bragantino at the Estádio Municipal Cícero de Souza Marques in Bragança Paulista on 15 January, then a 1-1 draw with São Paulo at the Neo Química Arena last Sunday.
The last longer barren spell began with a 3-0 loss to Cruzeiro at the Mineirão on 23 November. Corinthians then drew 2-2 with Botafogo at home on 30 November, lost 2-1 to Fortaleza at the Arena Castelão on 3 December, and ended the Brasileirão with a 1-1 draw against Juventude on 7 December.
They responded in the Copa do Brasil, beating Cruzeiro 1-0 away on 10 December in the semi-final first leg, then losing 2-1 at home and advancing on penalties. The final brought a 0-0 home draw with Vasco on 17 December and a 2-1 win at the Maracanã on 21 December, sealing the club's fourth title in the competition.
In this Paulista campaign, Corinthians have played four matches and won only once, a 3-0 opening-day victory over Ponte Preta on 11 January. Since then they have recorded two draws and one defeat. They visit Velo Clube in Rio Claro on Sunday at 20:30 at Estádio Benito Agnelo Castellano in round five.
