According to Globo.com, Corinthians have been reported to the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva do Futebol over cups thrown and a pitch invasion during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Cruzeiro in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

The sports prosecutor has charged the club under article 213 of the Brazilian Sports Justice Code, which covers failing to take measures to prevent or suppress disorder, pitch invasions or objects being thrown.

The code allows for a fine ranging from R$ 100 to R$ 100,000. The hearing is scheduled before the fifth Disciplinary Commission of the STJD on Wednesday.

Referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda wrote in his match report that, when Cruzeiro scored their second goal, Corinthians supporters threw cups containing liquids from the stands.

He also noted that after the final whistle a Corinthians fan entered the pitch, ran towards Gustavo Henrique and received the defender’s shirt while stewards escorted him away.
