Corinthians have sacked head coach Dorival Júnior and his staff after a 1-0 defeat to Internacional at Neo Química Arena on Sunday, the club said in a statement.
President Osmar Stabile and football executive Marcelo Paz took the decision. Dorival was appointed at the end of April last year.
He leaves with two trophies, the Copa do Brasil in 2025 and the Supercopa do Brasil in February 2026. The club thanked the departing staff and said the achievements will remain part of the club’s history.
The move also followed a dip in form, with Corinthians winless in nine matches, seven of them in the Brasileirão. In this campaign they went out to Novorizontino in the Campeonato Paulista semi-finals and started below expectations in the league.
Corinthians begin their Conmebol Libertadores campaign on Thursday against Platense in Argentina. Under-20 coach William Batista will take charge on Monday.
Dorival’s year in charge was complicated by off-field issues in 2026, including more than 10 injuries and unexpected departures such as midfielder José Martínez.
