Corinthians, Santos and São Paulo hit with six FIFA transfer bans | OneFootball

Corinthians, São Paulo and Santos are barred from registering new players after six FIFA transfer bans tied to unpaid sums on past deals. According to Globo.com, the cases span multiple transactions and disciplinary issues.

São Paulo were sanctioned on Tuesday, 21 July, for missing the first instalment on the purchase of midfielder Marcos Antônio from Lazio, a €1.05 million payment.

Corinthians, already suspended by FIFA and the CBF, failed to honour a payment agreement and received a fresh ban on Tuesday. The club now has four sanctions and transfer ban debts totalling R$ 22 million.

Santos have been under a ban since the first of July. The club owes €2.032 million to Monaco for Jean Lucas and are barred from signing for three windows or until the debt is cleared.

Corinthians’ active cases include R$ 6 million owed to Midtjylland for the final instalment for Charles and US$ 1.5 million due to Philadelphia Union for José Martínez. There is also R$ 8 million overdue from a Câmara Nacional de Resolução de Disputas, CNRD, agreement.

FIFA imposed a disciplinary fine of US$ 225,000 for breaches linked to the Charles, José Martínez and Talles Magno transactions. Separately, Corinthians owe US$ 850,000 to New York City for extending Talles Magno’s loan, with a FIFA ruling and an appeal pending at CAS.
