Corinthians schedule Fazendinha pitch maintenance after criticism, Vitória match moved to Canindé | OneFootball

Corinthians will carry out maintenance on the Fazendinha pitch in the coming days after criticism from players, coaches and fans during last Friday’s Paulista Feminino win over Ferroviária.

According to Meu Timao, work starts Sunday, so the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino fixture with Vitória moves to Canindé on 26 at 11:00.

Before then, Fazendinha will host two youth fixtures on Saturday, with Corinthians under-20 facing Itapirense at 19:00 and the under-17 meeting Ibrachina at 11:00, both in the Campeonato Paulista.

During the Ferroviária game the surface showed bare patches on one flank and holes across the pitch.

Head coach Emily Lima said in the mixed zone that playing an important match on a surface in that state was uncomfortable, though it was what they had on the day.

The ground also underwent a structural review in June, when a civil engineer inspected the stadium as part of the process to secure authorisation to host games. The report’s main recommendation was the total demolition of the West Stand.

The West Stand has been shut since 2018 after the Federação Paulista de Futebol and São Paulo Military Police ruled it unsafe. Since then only the North, South and East sectors have been in use, while the closed area serves the club’s rowing department and a Military Police post.

Other stands, engineering systems, installations and accessibility were assessed, and no significant structural problems were found, with most items marked satisfactory or without anomalies.
