Corinthians settle overdue image rights with first team amid cash strain | OneFootball

Corinthians have cleared overdue image rights owed to the men's first-team squad, liabilities that had been outstanding since 20 June.

According to Meu Timao, the settlement was expected on Monday amid a delicate financial situation, and the current board, led by president Osmar Stabile, is prioritising payments to players ahead of other obligations.

The plan also provides for the July instalment, which fell due on 20 July, to be paid next week. Image rights account for the majority of players' remuneration.

Delays have become frequent in recent months. Over the previous two cycles, the squad also received CLT-registered salaries late. In May, April's payroll was settled around eight days after the due date, and in June the May wage arrived about 20 days late.

Corinthians are under three transfer bans and cannot register new players. The most recent arrived last Saturday after non-payment of the fifth quarterly instalment at the CBF's Câmara Nacional de Resolução de Disputas (CNRD), estimated at R$ 8 million.

The other two were imposed by FIFA. One was published on 21 May over delayed payment to Philadelphia Union for the signing of José Martínez, a debt of around R$ 7.7 million.

The other stems from non-payment of a 225,000 dollars fine, about R$ 1.16 million, for failing to comply with decisions linked to amounts owed to Philadelphia Union, to Midtjylland for Charles, and to New York City FC for the loan of Talles Magno. The Fatal Fans sponsorship should help with these debts.
