Corinthians share behind-the-scenes of win over Red Bull Bragantino

Last Friday (13), Corinthians released behind-the-scenes footage of their 2-0 victory over Red Bull Bragantino, in a match valid for the third round of the Brazilian Championship, played last Thursday (12) at Neo Química Arena.

The material, published by Corinthians TV, follows the team from their arrival in Itaquera. In a Carnival atmosphere, the video begins to the sound of the Samba Exaltação by Gaviões da Fiel, released in 2008, already setting the festive mood in the stands.

In the locker room, different soundtracks energized the players during their individual preparation and warm-up on the pitch. Before kick-off, defender Gustavo Henrique demanded focus from the group, while forward Memphis Depay emphasized the importance of a “smart game.” Next, goalkeeper Hugo Souza gave a speech and treated the match as a final.

“In the last games, we haven’t been able to get a positive result. It has to do with this here (pointing to his head). The guys have been coming in with a mentality for the game that we haven’t had. That’s how we’re going to approach the game, to finish them off. It’s a big game, damn it. Every game is big. If you want big things ahead, every game is a final. If it’s not like that, it’s not enough. Everyone together, just like a final.”, said the goalkeeper.

On the field, Corinthians built their victory in the second half. Gabriel Paulista opened the scoring after a corner kick. Before Matheus Bidu extended the lead, Hugo once again became the protagonist by saving a penalty taken by Isidro Pitta, his 11th penalty save wearing the black and white jersey.

“Now I’m top-3. Very happy about that, even more so for the three points. Important for us to keep our momentum. The team deserves congratulations for the progress and dedication, for everything we’re showing. It’s just the beginning.”, highlighted the number 1.

With the result, Timão reached three points and climbed to 12th place in the standings. The next match will be on Sunday, at 8:30 PM, at Estádio Primeiro de Maio, against São Bernardo Futebol Clube, in the final round of the first phase of the Campeonato Paulista.
