Corinthians held the 10th and final public hearing on Wednesday night at Parque São Jorge to discuss reforms to the club’s Statute, focused on general and transitional provisions. The night combined thanks with debate over governance and finances.
Meu Timao reports that the session was chaired by Romeu Tuma Júnior alongside Miguel Marques, Dalton Gioia and Gerson Leme. Discussion covered the finance and regulations chapters, plus the general and transitional sections.
About 30 people attended and president Osmar Stabile was absent. Attendees included councillor Rozallah Santoro, commercial director Joaquim Arruda and leaders of Gaviões da Fiel.
Speakers urged revising tight deadlines, a Code of Conduct alongside the Statute and clearer definitions of revenues. Appeals were made for greater supporter involvement and prioritising a Fiel Torcedor vote, plus easing the path for women moving from dependant status to meet gender quotas.
Councillor Paulo Pedro questioned obliging the board to adopt recommendations from a proposed compliance committee, arguing for autonomy. Tuma said the commission aims to address the club’s grave finances and guide decisions, citing the 2024 mixed commission that recommended the RCE.
Some warned against an over rigid text, others insisted firm checks are needed, with calls for tougher director accountability and tighter budget scrutiny before contracting. Tuma closed by calling the Statute vote the CD’s top priority. A brief confrontation between Paulo Pedro and Valmir Costa followed. The commission now consolidates notes for a closed hearing on nine February, then votes in the CD and the General Assembly.
