Corinthians step back on Wesley deal as Cruzeiro reopen talks | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Corinthians have stepped back from negotiations to take Al-Nassr forward Wesley on loan, and Cruzeiro have reopened talks with his camp as they seek attacking cover after injuries to Gabriel Pec and Sinisterra.

Corinthians’ retreat was driven by a FIFA registration ban that currently prevents the club from registering new players due to three overdue debts. The board also views the overall cost as high.

Cruzeiro were close to a loan agreement in early July, but negotiations faded when Wesley indicated a preference for Corinthians.

The negotiations are at an initial stage and could develop in the coming days, given the club’s need to reinforce the forward line.

Wesley has been contracted to Al-Nassr since 2024, when Corinthians sold him for about 20 million dollars fixed, roughly R$ 110 million at the time, plus 5 million dollars in bonuses, around R$ 27 million. His deal runs until 2028.
