Six organised Corinthians supporter groups have urged fans to gather at Parque São Jorge at 16:00 on Monday to follow proceedings that could see Augusto Melo expelled from membership.
According to Meu Timao, the call is signed by Gaviões da Fiel, Camisa 12, Pavilhão Nove, Estopim, Coringão Chopp and Fiel Macabra.
Their note seeks accountability for the former president, who is under the Ethics and Discipline Commission’s investigation over an invasion of Parque São Jorge on 31 May 2025 by supporters linked to him.
A group led by Maria Angela de Sousa Ocampos, first secretary of the Deliberative Council, tried to annul the vote that led to Melo’s nine August 2025 impeachment, declaring herself council president. In hearings, Melo said he knew nothing of it.
He said backers spoke of a document that could return him to power, claiming he was still the legitimate president. Interim chief Osmar Stabile called the episode a threat to democratic rule of law.
The commission also heard Maria Angela, who tried to postpone her testimony, then said people close to Melo encouraged her to present the document.
The body is examining 11 councillors, with votes to follow. Two of them, Mário Mello Júnior and Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé, sit on the commission.
The ballot on Melo is expected to be open and nominal, with 297 councillors voting. As Melo has been deposed, any expulsion would strip his associate status and member rights.
