Corinthians take the lead but let Audax draw in Paulista Feminino Under-17

On the afternoon of this Saturday (8th), Corinthians returned to the field for the Paulista Women's U-17 Championship. Playing at Estádio José Liberatti, in Osasco, for the first leg of the state tournament quarterfinals, the Brabinhas faced Audax Osasco and, after taking the lead on the scoreboard, ended up conceding a 3-3 draw. The goals for the Alvinegras were scored by Leticia (two) and Glória Lira.

Now, the teams will face each other again next Saturday (15th), at 3:00 PM (Brasília time), at Parque São Jorge, for the return leg of the clash. Corinthians needs to win to qualify for the semifinals of the Paulistão – if the match also ends in a draw, the spot will be decided by penalty shootout.

For the match, coach Júlia Passero lined up Corinthians with Carol Paiva, Yasmin, Kay, Lari, Nay, Isa Soares, Carol Melo, Lívia, Natália Pereira, Glória, and Letícia. On the bench, the following were available: Mariah, Hari, Lara Mel, Emelyn, Dafinny, Laura, Anna, Mika, and Júlia Romero.

In the first half, the match was intense from the start. At four minutes, Scaramella suffered a penalty and tried to convert, but missed by shooting over the goal. Corinthians went on the attack at the 13th minute, when Letícia advanced through the opposing defense, finished, and hit the post. The home team threatened again at the 22nd minute, with a free kick by Scaramella that was stopped by the wall.

However, it was Corinthians who opened the scoring! At the 32nd minute, Letícia took advantage of a mistake by the opposing goalkeeper to recover the ball and make it 1-0 for the Brabinhas. At the end of the first half, Carol Paiva saved Corinthians from conceding the equalizer after a dangerous shot, and the game went to halftime with a minimal lead for the Alvinegro.

In the second half, Corinthians changed their approach, going on the attack and quickly extending the lead, first with Glória, who finished after receiving a pass inside the area, and then with Letícia, after a well-worked play between Carol Melo and Glória, who assisted the striker.

Audax, however, reacted after conceding the third goal. First, Sarah pulled one back after taking advantage of Carol Paiva coming off her line. Then, after two goals were disallowed for offside, the home team pressed, scoring an Olympic goal with Sarah and, already at the end of the match, after preventing a fourth Corinthians goal, managed to equalize with an individual play by Kimberly.
