Corinthians will have three connections in this year's Champions League final, through Gabriel Martinelli, Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães.
According to Meu Timao, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain supply the trio, with Martinelli and Marquinhos academy graduates and Magalhães a declared fan. Arsenal booked their place by beating Atlético Madrid 1-0 on Tuesday, PSG followed with a 1-1 draw at Bayern after winning the first leg 5-4.
Marquinhos came through Corinthians in 2011, debuted in a friendly against Grêmio Osasco, helped win the 2012 Copinha and played 15 senior games before moving to Roma in early 2013 for R$ 8.2 million. Months later he joined PSG for €32 million and is now their captain.
Martinelli joined Corinthians in 2008, split formative years between football and futsal, then left for Ituano, the springboard to Arsenal. At the London club he alternates between starting and the bench under Mikel Arteta.
Magalhães never played professionally for Corinthians but has been seen among Gaviões da Fiel at Neo Química Arena and is a mainstay in Arsenal's defence. The final is on Saturday 30 May at 13:00 Brasília time at Puskás Aréna, Budapest, with PSG chasing successive titles and Arsenal after a first.
