Corinthians ‘to receive’ 3,000 tickets as Vasco plan Maracanã cauldron | OneFootball

Vasco da Gama are set to hand Corinthians only 3,000 away tickets for the Copa do Brasil final second leg at the Maracanã, Rádio Bandeirantes reports.

That equates to about 4% of the total capacity, a split designed to maximise home backing and maintain the usual reciprocity seen in high-stakes finals.

With almost 67,000 seats taken by Vasco supporters, the Maracanã is expected to be raucous on Sunday 21. The plan is to make the ground feel like São Januário, with the visitors isolated in a small section.

There is a sting in the tail for travelling fans. The Estagiário do Vasco account says Corinthians are likely to apply the same 4% share for Wednesday 17’s first leg.

Given the smaller capacity of Neo Química Arena, that would amount to roughly 1,800 tickets for Vasco’s away end, meaning intense competition for a very limited allocation.
