Corinthians are negotiating how to pay the R$ 7.5 million clause owed to Dorival Júnior after his unilateral dismissal. According to Globo.com, the club plan to propose instalments and believe a settlement with the coach’s lawyers should be straightforward.

The sum reflects three salaries across the hired backroom package, covering Dorival Júnior, assistants Lucas Silvestre and Pedro Sotero, fitness coach Celso de Rezende, and performance analysts Guilherme Lyra and João Marcos Soares.

President Osmar Stabile has sent the liability to the club’s financial restructuring committee, created in this administration to design a plan to clear active debts at Parque São Jorge.

Initially, the board resisted terminating the deal, trusting in a turnaround and wary of adding another major liability. After defeat to Internacional, the view shifted, and the coach was removed following nine matches without a win this season.

Recently, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ordered Corinthians to pay Shakhtar Donetsk for the loan of midfielder Maycon. The board renegotiated and paid R$ 5.4 million to avoid a FIFA transfer ban.

The club are also negotiating with Talleres of Argentina over roughly R$ 40 million due for the signing of Rodrigo Garro. Next, they intend to reopen talks with Memphis Depay to adjust amounts owed for signing-on fees and bonuses linked to individual and team targets, with about R$ 40 million outstanding.
