Corinthians will sport a personalised sleeve patch in the Copa Libertadores last 16 against Rosario Central, marking their 2012 triumph.

Conmebol confirmed on Monday that each former champion in the last 16 will use bespoke commemorative patches, with Corinthians’ version finished in black with white stripes to reflect the club’s colours. It includes the number one to denote their sole title, alongside the trophy and the year. The club has yet to reveal the price of the personalisation in official stores.

Until now, winners wore the same gold patch, which only differed by the number of titles. For the knockout phase, Flamengo, Estudiantes of Argentina, Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, Fluminense and LDU of Ecuador will also have customised emblems.

Corinthians won the 2012 Libertadores unbeaten, with eight wins and six draws, scoring 22 and conceding four. They defeated Boca Juniors of Argentina 2-0 at Pacaembu after a 1-1 first leg to lift the trophy for the first time.

The push for a second continental crown begins on 13 August at 21:30, away to Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito. The return is on 20 August at 21:30 at the Neo Química Arena.
