Corinthians Under-17 coach dismissed after Paulista Championship exit

Corinthians announced on Tuesday, October 14, the departure of coach Raphael Laruccia from the command of the Under-17 team. The decision was made four days after the team's elimination in the round of 16 of the São Paulo Championship in the category.

"The Athlete Development Department of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista announces the dismissal of Raphael Laruccia from the position of coach of the Under-17 team. Assistant coach Milton Gomes also leaves the Club.", wrote the club in an official statement released on Tuesday morning.

The coach joined Corinthians at the beginning of 2024 specifically to lead the Under-17 team, but was promoted to the Under-20 between June and September. During this period, he also temporarily led the main Timão team, where he played three games, with one win and two losses.

Adding up all the matches of both categories he led at Alvinegro Paulista, Raphael Laruccia leaves the club with 86 games, 45 wins, 17 draws, and 24 losses, maintaining a success rate of 61.6%. Additionally, there were 194 goals scored and 114 conceded.

With Laruccia's departure, the Under-17 will be temporarily led by assistant coaches Valdeir Santos, from the Under-16, and Zé Augusto, from the Under-20, until the board defines the new coaching staff. The category has no more official competitions scheduled for the rest of the 2025 season.
