Corinthians win at Ressacada, extend away unbeaten run

On the night of last Tuesday (21), Corinthians beat Barra-SC 1-0 at Ressacada Stadium in Florianópolis-SC, in the first leg of the fifth round of the 2026 Copa do Brasil. With the result, the club from Parque São Jorge took the advantage in the tie, improved its record at the stadium, and kept its unbeaten away run in the competition intact.

The triumph marked only Corinthians’ second victory at Ressacada in its entire history. Until then, Alvinegro had recorded just one positive result at the stadium, with all previous matches there having been against Avaí. Now, the overall record at the venue stands at two wins, four draws, and three defeats, with 11 goals scored and 13 conceded.

In addition, the team ended a run of three consecutive draws at the stadium and won there again after more than ten years. The last victory had been recorded in August 2015, when Corinthians came from behind to beat Avaí 2-1.

Away unbeaten run remains intact

Besides improving its record at the stadium, Corinthians extended its unbeaten away run in the Copa do Brasil. The last away defeat in the competition came on October 2, 2024, when the team was beaten 1-0 by Flamengo at the Maracanã in the semifinal.

Since then, Corinthians have played five away matches in the tournament and won all five, posting a 100% record, along with seven goals scored and only one conceded. In the first leg of the third round, they beat Novorizontino 1-0. In the second leg of the round of 16, they defeated Palmeiras 2-0. In the quarterfinals and semifinal, against Athletico-PR and Cruzeiro respectively, they beat both by 1-0 scores. In the final, at the Maracanã, they got past Vasco da Gama with a 2-1 win.

Since then, Timão have played six matches away from Neo Química Arena, with six wins, eight goals scored, and only one conceded, maintaining a 100% record.
