Corinthians’ women made a symbolic appearance at Neo Química Arena on Sunday, honouring São Jorge before the Majestoso and bidding farewell ahead of their London campaign.

Shortly before kick-off, the Brabas circled the pitch with club historian Fernando Wanner, who carries the image of São Jorge at Itaquera fixtures. They greeted the Fiel in the stands, according to Meu Timao.

The lap doubled as a send-off before their departure for the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup in London, drawing applause and underlining the bond between team, supporters and tradition.

During the derby, the men’s team wore shirts referencing the Brabas in London campaign, with its logo printed below the numbers. Neo Química Arena’s LED boards also carried the message.

The initiative followed earlier gestures, including the phrase on the lower back of the shirt for the season opener against Ponte Preta, and a November meeting at CT Joaquim Grava that brought the men’s and women’s groups closer.

Lucas Piccinato’s squad fly on Tuesday 20, then face Gotham FC of the United States in a single semi-final on 28 January at nine thirty, Brasília time, at Gtech Community Stadium. The final is set for the first of February, the third-place match will be played the same day.

On the pitch, Corinthians drew 1-1 with São Paulo in round three of the Paulista.
