Coritiba would need to pay R$ two million for JP Chermont to face parent club Santos in the Copa do Brasil and the league. According to Diario Do Peixe, the sides are due to meet four times this year, and Coritiba are not expected to trigger the clause.

Cuca’s Santos face the Paraná club in the fifth phase of the Copa do Brasil. The first game is on Wednesday 22 at 19:30 at Vila Belmiro. The second match is on 13 May at the same time at Couto Pereira.

They also meet in the Brasileirão on 17 May at 11:00 at Vila Belmiro in the 16th round. The reverse league fixture is pencilled in for 18 or 19 November.

Chermont is on loan at Coritiba until the end of the season. He has been well regarded but is currently behind Tinga and has made seven league appearances.

He was not in contention under the previous coaching staff, and Santos decided to loan him out. Promoted to the first team in 2024, he has a contract through 2027. For Santos he has two goals, five assists and 50 senior games.
