Mike Maignan suffered a serious-looking injury on Friday night against Udinese, but it seems like AC Milan may have their No. 1 back sooner rather than later.
The scenes from Udine were difficult to watch, as Maignan went down worryingly quickly. However, the reports in the days following have been largely positive, and with the goalkeeper even making light of the situation yesterday, it seems he is better than once it may have seemed.
In fact, Corriere della Sera (via Milan News) write that the collision was ‘more of a scare than anything else’, which is certainly a positive start, even if the Frenchman will return to the hospital on Tuesday for more tests to take place.
So, the focus moves to when he can return, and it seems that he can be back on the field very shortly. As the report states that his presence against Atalanta is ‘not at risk’, nor is his ability to feature in the game against Inter next midweek.
Sources close to Maignan state that the player is looking to return as soon as possible, to leave the ordeal behind him, which is a testament to his mentality, and another sign of why he is the captain of this Rossoneri side.
