Could Charlie Cresswell join Rennes in the event of Jérémy Jacquet joining Chelsea? | OneFootball

Charlie Cresswell (23) has been heavily linked with a move away from Toulouse FC this winter. The Englishman has been the subject of bids from Wolfsburg and Brighton and Hove Albion. All bids have been rejected with no side yet meeting Le TéFéCé’s €30m valuation of the defender.

However, there is also interest from Stade Rennais, who view the former Leeds United defender as a potential replacement for Jérémy Jacquet, who continues to be heavily linked with a move to Chelsea as the end of the transfer window approaches. 

Even if a move to Stamford Bridge does go through, Rennes are keen to retain the Frenchman on loan until the end of the season, but failing that, Cresswell is an option that could be considered, as per L’Équipe. But if the Englishman is to leave this month, Roazhon Park looks like the only feasible destination, with Toulouse still determined to retain their star player.
