It seems quite certain now that Jadon Sancho will move to Juventus. Once Timothy Weah’s exit is finalised, Juve will focus on bringing Sancho in. Now 25 years old, Sancho is no longer the youngster who has considered among the best in the world. In fact those days have far gone.
Over the last few years, Sancho has seen his stock crash and burn. A horror spell at Manchester United has been interjected by uninspiring loans at Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, with the former even paying United to not keep him on their books permanently.
Juventus are a big club. They have had a few down years but are looking to build under Igor Tudor and have a solid bunch of youngsters making up their core. There are however no superstars in their side and Sancho could take over that role. The best football of his career has come when he has had the keys to run and control attacks and at Juventus, it is likely he gets that free role and that licence.
However, the risk for both sides is great. For Juve, this is them taking on a player who not a lot of clubs want at the moment. For Sancho, this might be a last chance. Fail and his next move might be far away from the UEFA Champions League.
