Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho made his feelings clear about the club after scoring the second goal against Leicester City.

The Red Devils visited the King Power Stadium on Sunday evening and managed to pile more misery on Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men. Ruben Amorim’s men also showed solidity at the back, with Matthijs de Ligt producing a sensational sliding block.

Ayden Heaven was equally impressive for as long as he lasted, but unfortunately for the teenager, he suffered what could be a serious knee injury that blemished what was an otherwise perfect outing for United.

For his part, Garnacho ended his goal drought which dates back to the reverse fixture against the Foxes. The Argentine had already found the back of the net on an earlier occasion which was denied for a marginal offside call, but he avenged himself by scoring another one that stood.

The Argentine then celebrated by kissing the Man Utd badge in front of the travelling supporters, which many considered as a declaration of intent regarding his future.

In recent months, the 20-year-old, who was described as ‘courageous’ by Sir Alex Ferguson, has been heavily linked with an exit, especially with contract extension talks going at a slow rate.

In January, many believed the winger was a goner, especially with Napoli pushing for his signature. The player’s agent also fueled rumours of a mid-season exit by making an appearance at Stamford Bridge. Although the Argentine ended up staying at Carrington in January, exit talks continue to haunt him.

Therefore, his telling gesture at the King Power arguably reveals where his heart lies, but it remains to be seen if INEOS will be able to secure his services with a new and improved contract worthy of his talent. After all, the youngster is one of the club’s lowest earners with a weekly salary of £50,000.
