Real Madrid clashed heads with Atletico Madrid at the Alinma Bank Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result in the Spanish Super Cup. Los Blancos made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the second minute when Federico Valverde found the back of the net. Xabi Alonso’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Rodrygo doubled Real Madrid’s advantage in the 55th minute before Alexander Sorloth got a goal back for Diego Simeone’s side just three minutes later. The match ended with Los Blancos earning a narrow 2-1 win in Saudi Arabia.

He was far from convincing on the defensive end of the field and offered very little going forward.

Rodrygo was a threat in the final third and managed to score with a composed finish early in the second half.
