Carl Rushworth has been given a price tag of £15-20m following a successful loan spell at Coventry City
Carl Rushworth has been a valuable part of Coventry City’s rise to the top of the Championship table.
The goalkeeper arrived in the summer on loan from Premier League side Brighton after he spent the previous campaign with Hull City.
While he only played two times in the league for the Tigers, he has proven a key member of Frank Lampard’s first team squad this season.
The 24-year-old has featured in each of their league games so far this term, with the Sky Blues sitting comfortably at the top of the second division.
However, it has been reported that the Seagulls will seek between £15 and 20 million in order to cash in on Rushworth in the summer, which could lead to a major dilemma for Coventry owner Doug King.
Here we look at estimated figures from Capology to see how much the goalkeeper currently earns as part of his Brighton contract…

Rushworth has come through the academy system at Brighton, but he has been unable to break into their first team plans.
The goalkeeper spent time on loan at Worthing, Walsall, Lincoln City, Swansea City and Hull prior to his move to the CBS Arena last summer.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2027, meaning he is set to enter the final 12 months of his deal with the Sussex outfit.
receiving £5,000 per week from Brighton, making him one of their lesser paid players.
He is receiving less than midfielder Yasin Ayari, who has the lowest salary (£8,000 per week) of the players who weren’t loaned out of Fabian Hurzeler’s squad this season.
Meanwhile, the highest paid member of the team is a Pascal Groß, with the returning midfielder receiving £90,000 per week.
Ferdi Kadioglu, Lewis Dunk and Kaoru Mitoma are paid £87,500, £85,000 and £80,000, respectively, highlighting how far down the pecking order Rushworth.
And, in comparison, first-choice goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen earns £35,000 per week from the Premier League side.

Coventry’s wage bill is more modest when compared to Brighton, who have become a mainstay in the Premier League over the last several years.
The highest paid members of Lampard’s side are the quartet of Luke Woolfenden, Ellis Simms, Haji Wright and Matt Grims.
Other well paid members of the squad at the CBS Arena include Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Liam Kitching, who receive £20,000 and £17,500 per week, respectively.
There is no doubt that Coventry could offer a competitive salary to Rushworth when compared to his current wages at Brighton.
However, the small matter of a £15 to 20 million transfer fee could be enough to put them off a permanent move for the goalkeeper.
Any decision over Rushworth’s future will have to wait until the Sky Blues’ promotion from the Championship is secure, as the club will surely only pay that kind of figure if they are in the Premier League next season.
