Craig Gordon has retired at 43 after 710 matches. The Scotland goalkeeper, the oldest player at the 2026 World Cup, confirmed his decision on Thursday.
The player said in a social media video that he never wanted it to end, but it had to, and that he had fulfilled his dreams and was extremely grateful.
Across 25 years, Gordon, who endured significant injuries, represented Heart of Midlothian, Cowdenbeath, Sunderland and Celtic. With Celtic he won five league titles from 2015 to 2019, three Scottish League Cups from 2015 to 2017, and two Scottish Cups in 2017 and 2018. He had earlier lifted the Scottish Cup with Hearts in 2006.
Capped 84 times by Scotland, he was in the squads for Euro 2020 and the 2026 World Cup, though he did not play in either tournament.
He began and ended his club career with Hearts, the boyhood side where he first broke through.
