Cristiano Ronaldo bowed out of the 2026 World Cup as Portugal lost 1-0 to Spain in the Round of 16. According to Sports.ndtv.com, his 2026 net worth is estimated at $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion, making him football's first billionaire.
The defeat came on Monday in Dallas, Texas, United States. Ronaldo said it was his final World Cup.
He described leaving the tournament with sadness but said he gave everything and departs with a clear conscience. He will take time with family before deciding his next steps, adding that he avoids snap decisions.
He crossed the billionaire threshold in June 2025 after extending his Al Nassr contract.
In June 2025 he signed a two-year extension worth a reported $400 million to $620 million depending on bonuses, with roughly $200 million to $235 million a year. Saudi Arabia's tax-free system means most of that arrives net.
His career football earnings since Sporting CP in 2003 exceed $550 million across Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al Nassr. A lifetime Nike deal, believed to top $1 billion, continues to pay irrespective of playing time.
The CR7 portfolio spans hotels, clothing, fragrances and gyms, with Pestana CR7 sites in Lisbon, Madeira, Madrid, New York and Marrakech. Endorsements generate an estimated $50 million to $60 million a year, and Instagram sponsorships add around $125 million to $175 million annually.
He is also reported to own a 15 percent stake in Al Nassr, tying his wealth to the club's long-term growth.
