Cristiano Ronaldo finally lifted the Roshn Saudi League trophy as Al Nassr beat Damac 4-1 at Al Awwal Park, his brace sealing the title and ending a seven-year wait.

According to spl.com.sa, time had seemed to slip away after last week’s Capital Derby, when Bento and Inigo Martinez collided and Ronaldo left stunned.

On Thursday he struck the hosts’ third, then a dipping free-kick for the fourth, before being serenaded onto the plinth to receive the trophy. Sadio Mane had earlier eased the tension with the opener.

Tears followed his second as he kissed the badge, looked to Georgina and his children and formed a heart with his hands. He later led the thunderclap with the ultras’ drum, a snapshot of how his family have embraced life in Saudi Arabia.

He did not make it three straight golden boots, but his season brimmed with moments. A 14-minute stoppage-time penalty beat Al Fayha, an overhead against Al Khaleej wowed, and a nine-game, 12-goal burst set the pace. A header in a 2-0 win over Al Ahli steadied the charge, then a poacher’s finish at Al Shabab brought 100 RSL goals in 105 games, only the third to do so in the Saudi Pro League era.

Jorge Jesus guided a cast that clicked. Joao Felix produced 33 goal contributions and was named 2025-26 SPL Player of the Season, and a backline of Martinez, Mohamed Simakan, Abdulelah Al Amri and Bento made Al Nassr tough to beat in 30 of 34 matches.
