La Liga president Javier Tebas says Cristiano Ronaldo's investment has given Almeria a significant lift in profile and appeal to sponsors.
According to Goal.com, Tebas outlined the effect while presenting La Liga's 2024-2025 economic report, calling the 41-year-old's arrival a strategic asset.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward has taken a 25 per cent stake through CR7 Sports Investments. He has previously set out a wish to support UD Almeria's next phase of growth and to contribute to football beyond the pitch.
Tebas said Almeria's social media following has risen by about 25 per cent and that the club now ranks around fifth or sixth in Spain for followers. He noted that if that translates into solid engagement it increases value when courting sponsors.
He added that the blend of audience and interaction strengthens the Rojiblancos' appeal to brands, bringing returns beyond the pitch. In his view, Ronaldo's global reach, as investor and ally, gives them a significant boost that the club are working to harness.
On the pitch, head coach Rubi is focused on the run-in. Almeria are third, level on points with second-placed Deportivo La Coruna, as they chase automatic promotion and a top-flight return on the final day.
