Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, continues at the World Cup, and a wearable test at a smart watch launch measured his biological age at 29. He has since outlined the daily habits he says keep him in peak shape.
On the pitch, some Portugal fans have questioned whether he should start. He scored a penalty against Croatia the other day, and it remains unclear if he will begin against Spain. According to the podcast Tengo un Plan, his former conditioning coach Iván Perujo has long highlighted Ronaldo’s unwavering consistency.
In a recent video, Ronaldo reflected on ageing and the need to look after the body early. He said his lifestyle is built on steady routines that help him sustain high performance across a season.
He keeps active by playing with his children and walking well beyond 10,000 steps each day. He also treats rest as non-negotiable for both physical and mental output.
Routine, he added, is what matters most, usually sleeping between 23.00 and 24.00 and waking around 08.30, aiming to keep the same hours.
Recovery sits alongside training in his plan. He uses compression and cryotherapy and follows a simple rule of matching recovery time to the length of his sessions.
