Cristina Martín-Prieto is likely to leave Benfica at the end of the season, according to Glorioso 1904. The Spanish forward, previously with Sevilla, is dissatisfied with her game time and is not inclined to continue under Ivan Baptista.

She has lost her undisputed starter status in Benfica’s women’s side and no agreement has been reached on a renewal with the board led by Rui Costa.

Now in her second season, Martín-Prieto’s prominence has waned since Baptista replaced Filipa Patão. The forward is not the profile preferred by the Portuguese coach, who has turned to other options.

After a first campaign when she started almost every game, the attack has been entrusted to Diana Silva, Chandra Davidson and Nycole Raysla. Over the last five matches she has played only 25 minutes, including one minute against Torreense.

This season she has made 27 competitive appearances, 11 in Liga BPI, six in the Champions League, five in the League Cup, four in the Portuguese Cup and one in the Super Cup. Across 1,585 minutes she has scored five goals. The most likely outcome is a summer exit, with a return to Spanish football in mind.
