Cruz Azul have won the Clausura 2026, defeating Pumas in a final they largely controlled but only settled in the last minute.
According to Americayya.net, the triumph takes La Máquina to 10 Liga MX titles, keeping them fourth in the league’s roll of honour behind Club América, Toluca and Chivas.
Across all competitions, Cruz Azul now sit second for total trophies, moving above Chivas yet still a long way behind América.
The leading trophy counts in Mexico are: Club América 42, Cruz Azul 27, Chivas 26, Toluca 22, León 20, Tigres 16, Pachuca 16, Pumas 14, Monterrey 14, Necaxa 12, Atlas 12, Puebla 10.
Then come Santos 8, Atlante 8, Zacatepec 5, Veracruz 4, Tampico 3, Morelia 3, Leones Negros 3, Tecos 2, Querétaro 2, Dorados 1, Xolos 1.
América’s amateur-era championships are excluded, which would add five to their tally. Even so, América are well clear, close to double Chivas’ total as the third-placed club.
Further silverware is set to be decided this year, notably Concachampions 2026, the Leagues Cup, the Derbi de las Américas, the Copa Challenger and the Copa Intercontinental. The last three can be contested by the Concachampions winner, to emerge between Tigres and Toluca.
