Cruzeiro, Corinthians, Mirassol and Coritiba have the worst home records at the start of the season, in sharp contrast to recent campaigns.

According to Globo.com, the Série A calendar is paused for international fixtures, giving clubs around 10 days to reset. Yet the quartet have struggled to impose themselves at home.

Cruzeiro finished last Brasileirão as the fourth best home side, yet are now fourth worst. Corinthians, Copa do Brasil winners, were ninth best at home last season and this year sit third worst. Two years ago they ranked fourth for home form with 10 wins, eight draws and one defeat, 67%, and ninth across the season with 19 wins, 11 draws and five defeats, 65%.

Mirassol’s trajectory has flipped. Last year they qualified for the Libertadores as the fourth best home side in the Brasileirão, unbeaten with 12 wins and seven draws, a 75% return. After a squad overhaul, their home yield is 42%, from two wins, four draws and two defeats, and in eight games they match last season’s home loss total from 25.

Only Coritiba are worse this year, with two wins, two draws and four defeats for 33%. In the league they have one home win and two defeats, despite the second best away record, three wins, one draw and one defeat, 67%.

At the other end, Palmeiras, Fluminense and Bahia lead home form. Bahia are the leading away side alongside Coritiba and Palmeiras.
