Corinthians were beaten 3-2 by Cruzeiro at the Arena do Jacaré in Minas Gerais on Monday, a result that halted their seven-match winning streak in the Brasileirão Feminino.
They had not lost in the league since a 3-2 defeat to Palmeiras on 13 March at Arena Barueri. Emily Lima's side then beat América-MG 4-0, following up with victories over Botafogo, Red Bull Bragantino, Juventude, Ferroviária, Grêmio and São Paulo, scoring 20 and conceding four across that run. According to Meu Timao, the team were also involved in other competitions during that spell.
In April they contested the Teal Rising Cup, exiting in the semi-final after a 2-1 loss to Kansas City Current. In the third-place match, they beat América of Mexico 8-0.
The Paulistão also began during that period. Corinthians opened with a 2-1 defeat to São Paulo, then beat Red Bull Bragantino 6-0 last Thursday.
Corinthians face Mixto next Monday at 21:00 as they look to resume winning ways in the league. Before that they meet Santos in the Campeonato Paulista this Thursday at 19:15.
