Crysencio Summerville has joined Al-Hilal for more than €70m, a move that has shocked given Saudi football has sharply reduced summer spending.
The 24-year-old departs West Ham for Al-Hilal. The Public Investment Fund said its halt to LIV Golf, the circuit that rivalled the PGA Tour, was taken in light of financial priorities and current global dynamics.
Within the Vision 2030 programme, The Line has been cut from 170 km to 2.4 km, the Trojena ski resort delayed, and the Magna hotel project suspended.
State-backed sports initiatives have been rolled back, with the Masters snooker event cancelled, the 2029 Asian Winter Games bid withdrawn, and investment in the WTA ending.
Whether this signals a broader return to restraint in the transfer market remains an open question.
