In what appears to be an inflated market, Manchester United have managed to strengthen their midfield without spending recklessly.
United have secured the services of technically gifted midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for a combined £85 million, including add-ons.
The Red Devils are hoping to find a similarly good value signing during their search for a new attacker.
Manchester United are thought to be willing to add firepower to their frontline, especially on the left-hand side ahead of next season.
According to The Guardian, United’s preference remains to first offload Marcus Rashford via a sale or a loan, as the England international is on a £17.5m-a-year contract.
It is claimed that United will target Crysencio Summerville should Rashford leave this summer. The 24-year-old versatile forward’s potential fee is reported to be around £30m.
“Summerville is viewed as having the right profile in regards to a left-sided forward to replace the England international,” the report states.
It is understood West Ham are open to selling the Dutchman, who was directly involved in four goals for the Netherlands at the World Cup, provided they receive a suitable offer.
Summerville is known for bringing unpredictability to his side’s attack with his explosive pace and dribbling.
“At the moment, he’s just unbelievable. When he takes the ball, I think everyone is scared in the league. That’s the player he wants to be, and he has the quality to do it, so I’m really pleased for him,” his West Ham teammate Jean-Clair Todibo said in March.
Earlier this month, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Summerville only wants to join United.
The West Ham talisman has reportedly already made this clear to his representatives despite interest from several clubs.
