Two Eagles stars injured in training before Fiorentina and Newcastle games
Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah will not play again this season after suffering a hamstring injury in training.
Nketiah has struggled with injuries throughout his time at Selhurst Park so far, restricted to just two Premier League starts this term.
He has not featured for Palace since the 1-0 defeat by Tottenham on December 28 after sustaining a thigh injury, but had returned to training ahead of the Eagles’ 3-0 Conference League quarter-final first-leg victory over Fiorentina.
The former Arsenal forward then suffered a fresh setback after pulling up with a hamstring injury at the end of training on Wednesday.
Asked for an update on Nketiah’s fitness ahead of Sunday’s game at home to Newcastle, Glasner confirmed that he would be ruled out until the summer.
“Yes, Eddie, unfortunately, was the end to the season, so he won't return until the new season starts,” Glasner said in his pre-match press conference.
“I didn't speak to him because he had a scan yesterday evening, and I think the doctor called me at night and in the evening when I watched the Champions League games.

“I (just) got this information, so it's brand new and of course today it was preparing the team, but of course tomorrow I will speak to him, and then we will decide what's best.
“For him it's the same as with Cheick Doucoure, he is getting stable, and now his deadline is not Newcastle or Florence, now his deadline should be when the new pre-season starts.”
Doucoure is stepping up his recovery from a serious knee injury that has kept him out since January 2025.
He missed Thursday’s win over Fiorentina after suffering what Glasner described as “not a heavy injury” in training and the Palace boss admitted he would not be fit to face Newcastle.
Palace will be looking to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to six games when they host the Magpies on Sunday.
