Selhurst Park hosts rematch of last season’s FA Cup final as high-flying sides go head to head
Manchester City will hope to continue piling the title pressure on Arsenal when they travel to face high-flying Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.
Sunday’s clash pits together the clubs who sat fourth and second respectively heading into the weekend in a rematch of last season’s FA Cup final, which the Eagles won 1-0 at Wembley courtesy of Eberechi Eze’s goal to lift the first major trophy in their history.
Palace have continued to go from strength to strength since then under Oliver Glasner despite the ongoing uncertainty over his future and familiar transfer frustrations, adding the Community Shield to their cabinet before making an early case for potential Champions League qualification as they also enjoy a maiden campaign in Europe in the Conference League.
They bounced back from a frustrating home loss to Manchester United by winning twice on the road in five days, edging out Burnley and Fulham respectively before a visit to Shelbourne.
City will be looking for revenge as they likely eye closing the gap to Arsenal at the summit back to two points, with the Gunners hosting rock-bottom Wolves on Saturday night.
Pep Guardiola’s men capitalised fully on the leaders’ last-gasp defeat at Aston Villa, brushing aside surprise package Sunderland 3-0 to cut the deficit down from five and quickly reclaim second spot from in-form Villa.
City’s confidence was boosted still further by a 2-1 midweek win away at Real Madrid in the Champions League, their fourth victory in a row across all competitions.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City is scheduled for a 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday December 14, 2025.
The match will take place at Selhurst Park.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports Premier League. Coverage begins at 12:30pm GMT.

Palace are being hit hard by injuries at present, with their squad for Thursday night’s trip to face Irish side Shelbourne in the Conference League featuring just 15 senior players.
Daniel Munoz is facing four to six weeks out as he prepares for surgery on a knee problem, while Ismaila Sarr remains doubtful with an ankle ligament injury but is still expected to join up with the Senegal squad for the Africa Cup of Nations after this weekend.

Glasner is being cautious with Jean-Philippe Mateta’s fitness following a knee issue, though hopes to have him back in training on Friday. Jaydee Canvot has been battling illness, with Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad and Caleb Kporha all still out.
It remains to be seen if Rodri is in contention to return for City having missed their last eight matches following a hamstring injury, though Mateo Kovacic and John Stones are definitely out.
This could easily be one of the highlights of the Premier League weekend as two confident, in-form teams do battle in south London.
A clash with City will hold absolutely no fears for Glasner and Palace, who may boast a lingering psychological advantage following their Wembley heroics in May.
Injuries are an issue at the moment though and the Eagles will have wanted both Sarr and Mateta fully fit for this test.
City have quickly recovered from those pair of successive defeats by Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen late last month and been scoring for fun of late during a statement run of wins, with the record-breaking Erling Haaland at the forefront as usual.
However, a wild 5-4 victory at Fulham showed there are certainly defensive frailties to be exposed.
Palace have been much better away this season than at home, while it has been a decade since they beat City in the league at Selhurst. Their only two victories in the last 20 iterations of this fixture were both at the Etihad Stadium.
Man City to win, 3-1.
These two teams played out a 2-2 draw at Selhurst last season, with City winning 5-2 at the Etihad and Palace winning the FA Cup final 1-0 at Wembley.
Crystal Palace wins: 18
Man City wins: 39
