Cuiabano hopes to stay at Vasco after flying start | OneFootball

Cuiabano’s sparkling form at Vasco da Gama has seen the left-back state he hopes to remain at the club.

“I have made a great start to the season and I am very happy here. I hope to stay longer at Vasco,” he told TNT Sports on Sunday.

Signed on loan from Nottingham Forest in England at the start of the year, he initially missed the early matches but has since become a key tactical option as he adapts quickly.

His rise has coincided with the arrival of Renato Gaúcho, who has given him greater attacking licence and regular confidence. The full-back has become a surprise threat, often arriving in the box.

In six appearances he has two goals and three assists, impressive numbers for a defender. Club leaders are tracking his progress with a possible purchase under consideration.

Vasco sit ninth in the Campeonato Brasileiro on 11 points. Renato Gaúcho’s side face Coritiba on Wednesday 1 at 20:30 in round nine.
