Cuiabano has reached 100 senior matches and is making his mark at Vasco. The left-back has quickly impressed.

Globo.com reports on his rapid rise. He came on in the second half against Palmeiras on Renato Gaúcho's debut to score his first Vasco goal, the winner. He then started against Cruzeiro wearing number 66 and set up Barros with a cross, and has also featured off the bench against Santos and Fluminense.

He regards the achievement as hugely significant at a giant club with passionate support, feeling the weight and responsibility each time he steps on the pitch. He takes pride in his career tally yet is hungry to keep improving and to write a strong chapter at Vasco.

A Grêmio academy product, he joined the senior squad pool in 2022, making his first-team debut the following year. In 2024 he moved to Botafogo, winning the Conmebol Libertadores and the Brasileirão. Last season he was sold to Nottingham Forest, did not get chances, returned to Botafogo on loan, then agreed a switch to Vasco at the start of this year.

Cuiabano is on loan from the English club until the end of the season. Vasco hold an option to buy for 10 million euros, listed as R$ 60,4 at the current rate, and a permanent deal would run until the end of 2030.
