Custody has been extended for adults arrested on Thursday night ahead of the Coupe de France final between Lens and Nice, with final decisions due on Saturday afternoon.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said 60 adults had their custody extended on Friday evening. Five minors are not under its jurisdiction given their usual place of residence.
The 65 arrests followed clashes in the 10th arrondissement of Paris involving about 100 Nice hooligans. After a walk along the Canal Saint-Martin, a large brawl broke out on the Quai de Valmy, leaving six injured, one seriously.
A further 35 people were arrested on Friday evening, mainly for possession of pyrotechnics, carrying prohibited weapons, assault and insulting behaviour.
Lens won the final 3-1 against Nice, giving the Sang et Or their first victory in the competition.
