Czechia and South Korea begin their FIFA World Cup campaign with a clash on Friday in Guadalajara, both aiming to get off to a strong and positive start in the tournament.

Czechia comes into this competition in very good form and with plenty of confidence. Back in March, they showed great determination by winning two tense penalty shootouts against Ireland and Denmark to secure their place at the World Cup.

This marks Czechia’s first appearance at a World Cup since 2006, and they arrive with a well-balanced and settled squad.

A major boost for the team is the return of attacking midfielder Adam Hložek, who has recovered from long-term calf and foot injuries in time to be included.
