Dani García leaves Olympiacos after Imanol's arrival and joins Atromitos | OneFootball

Dani García, 36, has left Olympiacos and signed for Atromitos, the Athens side announced on Sunday afternoon.

The former Athletic midfielder and Copa winner had joined Olympiacos in summer 2024 under José Luis Mendilibar. He has vowed to give everything for his new club.

The switch comes days after Mendilibar’s dismissal and the arrival of Imanol Alguacil. The club, based in Peristeri, also plays its home matches in Athens.

It was not the ending he had hoped for at Piraeus, yet the club remains close to his heart. He reflected on friendships, memories at Karaiskaki and how Greece has become special for his family.

Founded in 1923, Atromitos are 11th in the table and are less prominent than Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and PAOK. They have yet to win a match this season.

García now moves from a club expected to chase the title and compete in Europe to a relegation fight.
