FC Barcelona are working on certain operations already this summer as they look to reinforce their squad. After a successful season, especially when it came to domestic competitions, La Blaugrana are now aiming even higher. To do that, however, Barcelona would ideally like some upgrades.
On such upgrade could arrive in the form of a new left-winger, and Barcelona reportedly have some high-profile names shortlisted. Arguably, the most prominent target, however, seems to be 22-year-old Athletic Club forward Nico Williams.
As reports continue to claim that the payment of his release clause will happen soon, it is hardly surprising to see other Barcelona players be asked about the operation as well. Most recently, Dani Olmo was the player being involved in this conversation.

In a recent report by SPORT, the Barcelona midfielder was quoted as having said the following to the press when he was asked about the possibility of the Spanish winger’s arrival alongside his reported concerns regarding his potential registration:
“To Nico, I’d say: have patience, everything works out in the end. It’s true that there may be some doubts because of what happened with me last summer, but I was always calm and had the club’s full confidence.”
The timing of this statement is good as well, considering recent reports that suggested that possible registration concerns were creeping up within the Athletic Club star’s camp. Moreover, there is perhaps no player more qualified to speak on such concerns than Dani Olmo himself.
Having shared the stage with Nico Williams at the international level for the Spanish National team, Olmo likely knows the Athletic Club star well and he is also aware of the frustrations that can come with registration-related issues. Still, he made sure to praise the young winger as well while speaking about him:
“He’s a top player from another club, and that deserves respect. We want the best — I like playing with the best. Nico has proven himself with Athletic and with the national team.”
Interestingly, however, Olmo is not the only Barcelona player to have recently spoken out about the arrival of Nico Williams. Fellow Spaniard Ferran Torres also spoke about the winger just recently, and he had nothing but positive words to share as well.
