Barcelona star Dani Olmo will be ruled out for at least three weeks after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the 3-1 win against Atletico Madrid last night.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the attacking midfielder sustained the injury while scoring Barca’s second goal.

The 27-year-old scored a stellar double in the win against Alaves over the weekend and looked even more threatening against Atletico.

Olmo has bagged four goals and two assists in 13 La Liga games this season. He will miss the games against Real Betis, Eintracht Frankfurt, Osasuna and Villarreal this month.

Olmo’s setback adds to Barca’s growing midfield injury crisis. Fermin Lopez is out with a soleus injury but could return against Betis this weekend.

Gavi is recovering from a knee injury, while there’s a mystery regarding Frenkie de Jong’s absence in the last two games.

The Dutch midfielder missed the game against Alaves for personal reasons, and Barca attributed his absence against Atletico to a fever.

Pedri has just recovered from a hamstring injury, but that didn’t stop him from producing a midfield masterclass against Atletico.

The 23-year-old pulled strings from the midfield with absolute finesse, providing a sublime assist for Raphinha’s equaliser.

His form will be crucial for Barca to establish their dominance in all competitions in the second half of the season.
