Daniel Farke has just over 12 months left on his Leeds United contract, and a fan poll has delivered a clear verdict on a new deal as the 49ers consider their next steps.

According to Leeds Live, planning for the next phase began the day after safety was sealed and continues, and with Farke about to enter his final year, it would seem unlikely the contract question is not raised this summer.

Farke was under pressure in November before a switch to a back three sparked a turnaround that reshaped Leeds’ season and his own reputation. He answered doubts about keeping the side in the Premier League.

He showed flexibility, shifting between a back three and a back four to chase results. Recruitment emphasised height and power with quality, set-pieces were maximised, and wing-backs and wide number 10s provided threat. He dropped summer signing Lucas Perri and at times left January arrival Facundo Buonanotte out.

Leeds secured survival with three games to spare and made memories on the way. The league win at Manchester United, their first at Old Trafford for 45 years, stood out, while they went unbeaten against Liverpool and Chelsea and reached a first FA Cup final for 39 years.

Public and fan opinion has largely swung behind Farke. His remarks about needing to be convinced about the next stage and a desire for ambition drew little disagreement, and they were delivered before the Brighton match. A supporter poll returned 88% in favour of a new deal and 22% against.
