Daniel Farke names Leeds team vs Wrexham, Wilson on bench as three youngsters start | OneFootball

Daniel Farke has named a mixed Leeds United XI for the club’s first pre-season friendly in the United States against Wrexham, with new signing Harry Wilson on the bench and three youngsters starting.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Jayden Lienou, Alfie Cresswell and Callum Mills come in alongside captain Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Willy Gnonto and Dan James.

Joel Piroe leads the line and Alex Cairns starts in goal, with Lucas Perri among the substitutes amid reports Torino are closing in on a deal for the keeper.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a surprise absentee. There are three goalkeepers on the bench in Perri, Rory Mahady and Darryl Ombang. Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Ilia Gruev are also missing.

The Whites set out a 30-player US tour group, with some to join later after the 2026 World Cup. Noah Okafor has an extended break after Switzerland’s quarter-final run and was not in the travelling party.

Summer arrivals Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic were included in the wider squad along with Perri, as Leeds attempt to sign James Trafford as their new goalkeeper. Muharemovic is not involved, nor is Brenden Aaronson. Ao Tanaka is on the bench and Anton Stach returns after an ankle injury.
