Daniel Farke could face a fight to keep first-choice goalkeeper Karl Darlow this summer, with his Leeds United contract due to expire and outside interest emerging.
The Athletic reports that Manchester United are considering an approach for the Wales international.
Darlow made 22 Premier League appearances last season after stepping in for Lucas Perri, steadying things with a series of fine displays. He earned a save of the season nomination and has established himself as Wales No 1 under Craig Bellamy.
Asked about his goalkeepers in late April, Farke said he would only speak once futures were confirmed, across players and staff. He underlined his faith in Darlow, highlighting that the 35-year-old was his number one in the decisive weeks and kept Perri out.
Farke also praised Darlow’s professionalism and character, stressing the strong trust between them and hinting that observers could read between the lines.
Manchester United are believed to be seeking depth in goal, with back-up to Senne Lammens, Altay Bayindir, expected to leave. Darlow’s homegrown status could further encourage interest.
The report added that Leeds want to keep Darlow and intend to offer him a new deal. Last week club captain Ethan Ampadu signed a new four-year contract, with chairman Parag Marathe saying it was important for him and Farke to keep the core together where possible.
