Daniel James says he would love to end his career at Elland Road but accepts circumstances can change quickly, adding his place depends on performances after a stop-start season.

"Yeah, definitely. It's something that I would absolutely love to do as well, I think. So much [can change]. It definitely feels like home, but it's down to me to go and perform on the pitch." He told the Official Leeds United podcast.

The winger signed a new four-year deal last summer after starring in Daniel Farke's 100-point Championship title-winning side, scoring 12 and supplying nine in 36 games.

The first eight months of that contract have been difficult, with injuries limiting the 28-year-old to four Premier League starts and no goals or assists as Farke has shuffled his attack.

This year he has started only once, the 3-0 FA Cup fifth round win at Norwich in March. An adductor strain sidelined him for all of April, with two league cameos either side totalling nine minutes.

"I think when you sign contracts, obviously it's not always that you stay here for the full time, but I would absolutely love to do that." "But again, it's down to me to go and perform, not to prove to everyone but to prove to myself."

Despite limited minutes he is regarded as a useful squad option, with Farke valuing his attitude and fit within Leeds' tight-knit dressing room.
