Daniel Maldini nearing major move to Atalanta | OneFootball

Serie A side Atalanta are now nearing a major move for Monza midfielder Daniel Maldini.

TuttoAtalanta have reported that La Dea are ready to close their transfer for the midfielder, who has impressed at the Brianza club this season.

A meeting took place between the two clubs last night and Atalanta accelerated their move, with the sides now finalising the agreement for the transfer.

Maldini is being followed by Gian Piero Gasperini’s side for months now and while their initial plan was to sign him in the summer, Ademola Lookman’s injury is forcing them to move for him now. The player is keen on the switch and that is why the final details are expected to in place soon.

There is confidence that the deal is pretty much done, with Monza just taking time to find a potential replacement.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Maldini’s release clause is relevant from the summer onwards and La Dea were looking to offer a significant amount to make sure that Adriano Galliani’s club were convinced.
